Group President, Composite Solutions

Chuck Dana is group president of Owens Corning's Composite Solutions Business since 2003, and a member of the Executive Committee of Owens Corning.

The Composite Solutions Business (CSB) is the world leader in production of glass fiber reinforcements with more than 30 manufacturing locations in 15 countries.  Sales in excess of $2 billion include multiple products sold into a variety of end-use industrial markets including automotive, wind energy, building materials, ballistics, and aerospace.  Customers include many global Fortune 500 manufacturers.  CSB has industry leading furnace and glass technology coming from its R&D locations in Chambery, France and Granville, Ohio.

In November 2007, Mr. Dana led the $640 million acquisition of Saint-Gobain's reinforcements business.  This transformed the reinforcements industry globally as Owens Corning and Saint-Gobain were the leaders in the global market share.  Mr. Dana also led the acquisitions of the reinforcements businesses of Vitro Fibras in Mexico and Asahi Glass in Japan.

Mr. Dana joined Owens Corning in 1996 and served as vice president-corporate audit and controller for CSB until 1999 when he became vice president-global sourcing.  In this role, he consolidated purchasing groups from across the company and was accountable for a global spend of more than $3 billion.  He also added the role of corporate controller from 2001-2003 when he became group president, Composite Solutions Business.

Before joining Owens Corning, Mr. Dana spent 18 years with General Electric Company, working in a variety of finance and operating roles at GE Plastics, GE Power Generation, GE Locomotives, and at Corporate Headquarters in Fairfield.  In his last role at GE as president-GE Locomotives Indonesia, he created a manufacturing joint venture with the Indonesian government to assemble locomotives.

Mr. Dana has served on boards for Owens Corning businesses in India and South Africa, and participates actively on philanthropic boards in Toledo, including the Toledo Museum of Art.

Mr. Dana graduated Cum Laude from Dartmouth with a B.A. in Economics in 1977.
