Mark Mayer is vice president and chief accounting officer at Owens Corning, a leading innovator of glass fiber technology with sales of $5 billion in 2007 and operations in 26 countries. He was named to his current position in 2007.
Prior to his current responsibilities, Mr. Mayer served as vice president of accounting and reporting beginning in 2003. In 2001, he was appointed vice president and controller for the office of restructuring to oversee Owens Corning’s successful emergence from Chapter 11 in 2006. Mr. Mayer joined Owens Corning in 1999 as the controller for the information systems, and science and technology organizations.
Mr. Mayer’s 20 years of experience prior to joining Owens Corning includes work as a certified public accountant with a major public accounting firm and key financial leadership roles with two major retailers.
He is a member of the Owens Corning Disclosure Committee.
Mr. Mayer earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Bowling Green State University. He is an active board member at Connecting Point, a non-profit Toledo, Ohio based agency providing mental health and substance abuse services, school-based education and prevention programs, community outreach services and residential treatment.
